Dubai Continues to Grow as a Fintech Hub, as DIFC holds Fintech Event on 28th of June, 2022

(Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 27 June 2022) : As Dubai continues to grow as a fintech hub, The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is hosting its first Fintech Week on June 28th and 29th, 2022. This event will be held at Ritz Carlton DIFC and will host the region’s top players in the fintech sector. 

DIFC Fintech week expects over 1,000 attendees, which will include top players in the industries including innovators, leading investment firms, policymakers, banks, and service providers.

The CEO of DIFC Authority, Arif Amiri, expressed his expectations of the event: 

“We have been defining the region’s financial technology market for several years and hosting the DIFC FinTech Week reflects our commitment to accelerate the next phase of its growth. DIFC FinTech Week provides the ideal platform for influential contributors from the sector to come together and drive ideas forward to help accelerate growth and innovation. The highlight of the event will include more than 40 keynote speakers, panel discussions, product showcases, and enterprise use-case presentations to highlight the next-gen technology solutions. The focus of DIFC Fintech week will be on 10 key themes which include, Web 3.0, metaverse, NFTs, crypto, blockchain, payments, embedded finance, open banking, regtech, and ESG.

A few confirmed keynote speakers include Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, Rene Michau, global head of Digital Assets at Standard Chartered, Arshad Ghafur, president of Bank of America MENA, Henri Arslanian, managing partner at Nine Blocks Capital Management, Dr. Bernd Van Linder, CEO of Commercial Bank of Dubai, and Navin Gupta, MD, South Asia and MENA, at Ripple.
