Many people want to give back but just don’t know where to go to help. That’s one of the main reasons why Dino Rizzo, the co-founder of Healing Place Church, created the Serve App.
Originally created for the Church of the Highlands in Alabama, Dino and his team expanded access to the Serve App to churches of all sizes, big and small, so that anyone can have access to the free resource to give back to the community. Today, more than 2,500 organizations use the Serve App across the country.
Here are some ways in which the Serve App supports giving back to the community.
Find Projects Around You
For anyone interested in giving back to the community, the Serve App can help you find projects that are located nearby.
The app, which is available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, allows you to select a specific church in your area to see what projects they are currently undertaking. Or, you can use your location to find all projects near you. You can even browse the full directory of projects so you can find one that might be a good fit for you.
The app allows users to review all the project details as they browse and then add themselves to the project in a few simple steps. Once signed up, you can communicate directly with the leader and fellow participants in the project through the Serve App.
“The Serve App is a great resource that people can use to find ways to give back to their local community,” said Dino Rizzo. “It’s like Mother Theresa said, ‘I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.'”
Market Your Project to Others
If you have a service project that you’re leading, you can also use the Serve App to share the details of it with others. Through the app, you can share the vision of your project, communicate it to others, and then engage with them in preparation.
Within the Serve App, you can communicate the logistics, set up the ins and outs, and organize people toward the common cause.
The Serve App provides leaders with an easy way to share the love of God they have through practical acts of kindness in a practical way. Even if your project is smaller or more straightforward, it will be more impactful if you can get others to join.
That is the essence of the Serve App.

The Serve App can be downloaded for free for Apple mobile devices from the App Store or for Android mobile devices from the Google Play Store.
