BTC OCT (21)

This crypto overview starts with a mood swing. On October 14, the Fear and Greed Index climbed from 57 to 62, into Greed, Coin Gabbar reports. A day later, Bitcoin sits at $81,414, down 2.39%, per CoinMarketCap, and the index has cooled to 53, says TokenPost.

Moods in crypto turn fast, and prices often follow them later. The big coins will get the headlines. Still, a crypto overview built only on big coins misses the early end of the market. That is where you find Pepeto, a presale for a meme token that runs a $0 bridge. Its sale has passed $11.2 million.

Crypto Overview: Greed Jumps to 62 as the Market Holds $2.92 Trillion

The Fear and Greed Index rose from 57 to 62 on October 14, per Alternative.me data cited by Coin Gabbar. Total crypto value stood at $2.92 trillion that morning, per CoinGecko, and Bitcoin held 57.7% of it. The KuCoin daily report shows the same jump, with BTC at $83,172 and ETH at $2,497 at the start of the day. Some smaller coins moved harder, and ZK gained over 13%. The mood is lifting, but the market has not picked a direction yet.

This Crypto Overview Compares Pepeto, ZKsync and Starknet After a Wild Week

Pepeto: Analysts Eye 100x, With a $0 Bridge Already Live

The coins in this overview live on different chains, and Starknet may soon add one more of its own. Moving money between chains is often where a small trader pays the most. Pepeto, a meme token in presale, runs a bridge that charges $0 for that move, next to its own exchange and scanner.

Other bridges charge $15 to $50 a transfer and can take minutes or hours. Worse, a failed transfer there can lock funds for good. For a buyer who spreads coins across chains, ten moves on another bridge can cost up to $500.

Gas still applies on Pepeto’s bridge, but there is no bridge fee. It moves coins between Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Base and Arbitrum in under 60 seconds, and one example transfer took 41 seconds. Your tokens lock in an audited contract on one chain. They appear on the other once the lock is proven on chain. There is no wrapped IOU, so the token you receive is the real one.

If a transfer fails, the lock reverses on its own. No company holds your coins, and no one has to approve the move. Pepeto’s 420 trillion supply also stays the same on every chain, and Phantom, Rabby, MetaMask and Trust Wallet all connect to it.

When the mood can flip in a day, a $50 fee you never pay is money you keep. Today one token costs $0.0000001901. More than $11.2 million is in, and analysts see 100x once it lists. At that price, $250 buys about 1.3 billion tokens. If analysts are right, that stack would be worth about $25,000, though no one can promise it.

ZKsync: Fast Proofs, but ZK Sits 95% Below Its Peak

ZK trades at $0.017 after losing 3.56% in 24 hours, CoinMarketCap shows. That is about 95% below its $0.3285 high from June 2024. On October 14, Matter Labs showed Airbender Prime proving 99% of 7,200 Ethereum blocks in under 10 seconds each on one GPU, CryptoSlate reports. The tech moves fast. The price would need roughly 21x just to get back to its old high.

Starknet: An 80% Week, Then a 9% Drop

STRK sits at $0.091 after a 9.45% slide today, per CoinMarketCap. It rose more than 80% in seven days to a $0.126 peak, FinanceFeeds reports. The jump came after Starknet said on October 8 that it may move to its own layer 1 by 2027. Much of that gain is already gone. STRK also trades about 98% below its $3.66 high from February 2024.

Conclusion

Analysts project 100x for Pepeto, and its Binance listing is approaching. Every crypto overview of past cycles shows the same thing: the market pays the most to its earliest believers. Pepe hit $0.00002825 in December 2024, CoinMarketCap shows, and the people who bought when few cared made the most. Pepe’s early days are gone.

Pepeto’s are still here. Over $11.2 million has gone into Pepeto so far, and each stage closes when its timer ends or its target is hit. Today’s buyer holds the stage price, while anyone who waits will see a higher one on the Pepeto official website.
