Communication Platform Goals Discussed by Pratik Daga–Tech Expert

As an expert in communication systems, Pratik Daga has been keeping an eye on current trends, standards, tools and methods around user communications and how businesses can use them to meet companies objectives. Recently, Daga explored AMP for email, a service provided by Google for users using a gmail client. Similarly, he also explored actionable message provided by Microsoft for users using an outlook client. Through this, he considered factors such as performance, ease of use, scalability, cost, compatibility, with the existing IT infrastructure and assessed the risks associated with the chosen tool or application, including potential security risks, scalability risks, and maintenance risks.

“I proposed building these as reusable components so that all emails across various teams can leverage it and ultimately benefit business,” Daga explains. These platforms are integral to business communications throughout several networks and Daga has been monitoring the different ways to streamline the use of said platforms.

As a tech lead for Asana, a software-as-a-service platform designed for team collaboration and work management, Daga has been developing better platforms for communication on a large scale. The communication platform goals are as follows:

  1. Enhancing platform functionality and usability: The communications platform team should work to improve the functionality and usability of the Asana network as a product.
  2. Increasing user adoption and engagement: The communications platform team should work to increase user adoption and engagement with the platform. This can involve developing user onboarding programs, implementing user engagement and retention campaigns.
  3. Improving platform performance and reliability: The communications platform team should work to ensure that the Asana is performing at its best and is reliable for users. This can involve monitoring the platform’s performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to address any issues.

By focusing on these goals, the communications platform team can help Asana to provide a high-quality product that meets the needs of users and supports the company’s growth and success.

“To keep myself up-to-date,” Pratik Daga says, “I engage in continuous learning by reading books, attending conferences, participating in online courses and webinars, and subscribing to relevant blogs and newsletters.” As an expert in this field, Daga makes sure to keep himself in the proper circles and networks to always have an eye on the newest developments.

“I arrange and also give tech talks on technical topics at the team level and beyond. For example, I recently gave a tech talk on how to set up a successful on-call process for the engineering team. I also gave a tech talk to the data science team at Asana about how I led the Comms platform at LinkedIn. I trained partner teams about observability and made sure they understand how to use monitoring dashboards and setup alerts for their campaigns.”
