Arm-compatible Windows PCs

Google web browser Chrome announced in its blog that it’s releasing an upgraded version of Chrome for Windows PCs that is powered by Snapdragon on Tuesday. The aim of the upgrade is to make browsing the web faster and smoother.

As stated by the report, from this week on, a full version of Chrome will be available for download on Arm-compatible Windows PCs powered by Snapdragon. Google said that with the new release, Chrome will be upgraded for your PC’s hardware and operating system to make browsing the web faster and smoother, and with the recent benchmark testing, they are expecting Chrome to get an even bigger boost in performance with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon X Elite.

Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm Inc., said that this new version of Google Chrome will help bind Snapdragon X Elite’s role.

“The new version of Google Chrome will help cement Snapdragon X Elite’s role as the premier platform for Windows PCs starting in mid-2024. The PC industry is on the cusp of an inflection point, and as we enter the era of the AI PC, we can’t wait to see Chrome shine by taking advantage of the powerful Snapdragon X Elite system,” Cristano said.

Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior Vice President, Google, said that they designed Chrome to be fast, secure, and easy to use across different devices, and that the collaboration with Qualcomm technologies will ensure that their users get the best experience.

“We’ve designed Chrome browser to be fast, secure and easy to use across desktops and mobile devices, and we’re always looking for ways to bring this experience to more people, Our close collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies will help ensure that Chrome users get the best possible experience while browsing the Web on current ARM-compatible PCs,” he said.

Google Chrome and Snapdragon have been partners since 2008, and the two companies reaffirmed their collaboration for the upcoming XR devices in January. Snapdragon chipsets also power many wearables with Google software.
