China’s Robotaxi Commercialization Landscape Advances to a New Stage: CaoCao MobilityBuildout

Accelerates Scaled

In 2026, as Robotaxi Commercialization enters a new stage of development, CaoCao Mobility has continued to advance its Robotaxi business deployment, achieving steady progress in Purpose-Built Robotaxi R&D, operational system buildout and global partnerships. These moves provide a practical case study for observing the evolution of China’s Robotaxi Commercialization Landscape. Industry competition has shifted from pure autonomous driving technology validation to business model construction, with enterprises placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, cost control and scalable replication capabilities. The Robotaxi sector is now moving toward a more systematic, ecosystem-driven development phase.

From the perspective of China’s Robotaxi Commercialization Landscape, the industry has entered a critical transition period from pilot operations to scaled commercial rollouts. Leading players including Baidu Apollo Go, Pony.ai and WeRide are continuously expanding their Robotaxi service coverage and accumulating real-world operational experience. Meanwhile, commercial deployment places higher demands on vehicle platforms, intelligent driving systems, operational management and supporting infrastructure. Relying solely on technological advantages is no longer sufficient to support long-term growth, and building an end-to-end operational system has become an industry consensus.

As Geely Holding Group’s primary commercialization vehicle for Robotaxi, CaoCao Mobility has built one of the world’s few trinity, full-factor closed-loop ecosystems centered on intelligent purpose-built vehicles + intelligent driving technology + intelligent operations, integrating vehicle R&D, platform operations and autonomous driving capabilities to continuously refine its Robotaxi Commercialization framework. The company has currently deployed 100 Robotaxis in Binjiang District, Hangzhou for live operational trials, optimizing its operational capabilities through real-world road scenarios to accumulate experience for subsequent scaled expansion.

A mature operational network provides critical support for Robotaxi development. As of December 31, 2025, CaoCao Mobility’s service network covered 195 cities across China, with over 1.9 billion rides completed cumulatively. For the full year 2025, the company recorded revenue of RMB20.2 billion, representing a 38% year-on-year increase. It turned adjusted net profit positive for the first time in the fourth quarter, with monthly active users reaching 41.3 million. This solid financial performance provides a stable foundation for sustained investment in its Robotaxi business. It is worth noting that CaoCao Mobility has operational experience managing over 38,000 custom vehicles from the human-driven mobility era. These assets belong to its legacy manned ride-hailing operations, providing proven management and dispatching methodologies for future large-scale Robotaxi deployment—they are not Robotaxi units themselves.

On the vehicle platform front, CaoCao Mobility continues to advance the development of Purpose-Built Robotaxis. At Auto Beijing 2026, Eva Cab—China’s first natively developed Purpose-Built Robotaxi, with CaoCao Mobility’s deep involvement in product definition and R&D—was officially unveiled. The model adopts a steering-wheel-free, no-front-passenger-seat design and is engineered via forward development specifically for autonomous driving operational scenarios. Under current plans, the vehicle will enter mass production in 2027, with a target of deploying 100,000 units cumulatively by 2030 to further strengthen scaled Robotaxi Commercialization capabilities.

In terms of supporting infrastructure, CaoCao Mobility continues to refine its operational assurance system. The Green Intelligent Mobility Hub launched in Hangzhou integrates automated battery swapping, vehicle preparation, automated cleaning, smart dispatching and automated settlement functions to provide efficient operational support for Robotaxi fleets. Meanwhile, the platform continues to enhance its remote safety assurance and digital operations capabilities, further improving the operational efficiency of commercial Robotaxi services.

International expansion has also become a core component of Robotaxi Commercialization. In recent years, CaoCao Mobility has entered into a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and established separate collaborations with K2 Group and May Mobility to advance Robotaxi Commercialization deployment in the Middle East and European markets. The company is exploring the replicability of its proven operational system in overseas markets, accumulating practical experience for the global rollout of Robotaxi services.

Overall, China’s Robotaxi Commercialization Landscape is shifting from a technology-driven phase to a system-driven phase, with industry focus extending to multiple dimensions including vehicle platforms, operational capabilities, infrastructure and global cooperation. Relying on its continuously refined trinity, full-factor closed-loop ecosystem, CaoCao Mobility is steadily enhancing its Robotaxi Commercialization capabilities, exploring more mature development pathways for scaled Robotaxi operations, and providing valuable practical references for the broader industry’s commercialization progress.
