Carl Moon delivered back-to-back podium finishes at Ferrari Challenge Budapest, taking P3 in the opening race after charging from P12 and then improving to P2 in race two. The first result came after a nine-position recovery completed in just 30 minutes, while the second followed a major crash involving nine cars that ended the races of several competitors. The two results give Moon another standout weekend in a 2026 season increasingly defined by podium finishes across European and Scandinavian Ferrari competition.
From P12 to P3 in Just 30 Minutes
The opening race immediately put Moon under pressure. Starting twelfth left him with a large amount of ground to recover and very little time in which to do it. Over the next 30 minutes, he worked his way through the Ferrari Challenge field to reach third, gaining nine positions and turning what could have been a difficult race into one of his strongest recovery drives of the season.
Race Two Brought a Nine-Car Crash and an Even Better Finish
The second race unfolded very differently. A major incident involving nine cars brought several competitors’ races to an abrupt end, but Moon emerged unscathed and remained focused through the disruption. He went on to finish second, improving on his P3 from race one and completing the Budapest weekend with two trophies from two races.
Budapest Adds to a Run That Already Includes Le Mans and Portimão
The Hungarian results follow earlier Ferrari Challenge podium appearances at Le Mans and Portimão. Moon secured P3 during the 24 Hours of Le Mans race week at Circuit de la Sarthe before returning to the podium at Portimão. Those results were important markers in his first international Ferrari campaign; Budapest has now added consecutive podiums on the same weekend.
Two Rudskogen Wins Showed the Momentum Was Already Building
Moon had also arrived in Budapest after an especially strong Formula GT Challenge weekend at Rudskogen Motorsenter in August. Driving the Ferrari 296 Challenge, he recorded P1, P1 and P3 across three races, with pole position and a fastest lap also part of the weekend. The results moved him from seventh to fourth in the championship standings after he had missed the previous round.
Barcelona Is Now the Next Major Test
Ferrari Finali Mondiali in Barcelona is the next major event on Moon’s schedule. He will reach the season finale after P3 at Le Mans, another podium at Portimão, two victories at Rudskogen and now P3 and P2 in Budapest. The sequence gives Barcelona a different context: Moon is no longer arriving simply as a driver gaining experience, but as one carrying a sustained run of competitive results.
Budapest has added two more results to what is becoming the strongest motorsport season yet for Carl Moon.
