Bizbizetalk Opens With a Goodbye: Latif Kural on Leaving Dubai After 25 Years
Latif Kural was 12 years old when he moved to Dubai. He stayed for the next 25 years. He grew up in the city, and his adult life took shape there. Then he made a decision that most Dubai stories never get to: he went back to Türkiye.
That decision is the subject of the official debut episode of Bizbizetalk, the YouTube channel hosted by Ebru Erturk.
The premiere
The episode is called “Tersine Göç,” Turkish for “Reverse Migration.” It premieres on YouTube on October 17 at 8:00 PM (UTC+3), which is 9:00 PM in the UAE.
In it, Erturk and Kural talk through his life abroad and his choice to return after a quarter of a century away. The conversation leaves room for the parts of the story that don’t fit into a short clip.
A story told less often
The usual story of expat life in Dubai is about coming. Someone takes a job offer, signs a lease, and starts building a life. The going-home stories are told far less, even though they happen all the time. Contracts end. Parents get older. Priorities shift.
Kural’s case adds another layer. He arrived as a child, before he’d built an adult life anywhere else. For someone in that position, returning raises questions an ordinary relocation doesn’t. What does home mean when you’ve spent most of your life somewhere else? Which country feels foreign now?
Those questions will sound familiar to many viewers. Many Dubai residents came young or have stayed for decades, and plenty of them have quietly wondered how long they’ll stay.
An unusual way to open
Launching a Dubai expat podcast with a story about leaving Dubai is a bold choice. It tells viewers what kind of show Bizbizetalk wants to be: one interested in the whole arc of an expat life, including the moment one chapter closes, and another begins.
That gives the channel an unusual honesty. Dubai is a place people move to, and it’s also a place people move on from, and the show treats both as part of the same story.

Just between us
The channel’s name carries a hint of its tone. “Bizbize” loosely means “just between us” in Turkish. It suggests the kind of conversation you’d have at a kitchen table rather than on a stage.
That fits a debut built around a deeply personal decision. Kural’s story isn’t a guide to moving countries. It’s one person’s account of a choice that shaped his life, told to someone who has made a few big moves of her own.
Where to watch
