14-Day Morocco Itinerary: Cities, Desert & Coast

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver at the airport, then transfer you to your accommodation, drop your luggage off and then head to Hassan II Mosque, Africa’ second largest Mosque, explore the old medina of Casablanca, walk through its narrow streets filled with spice shops, handcrafts workshops, and restaurants. Late afternoon, explore Morocco mall, the largest shopping center in Africa, where you will find a variety of local and international products. Late afternoon, take you to your accommodation where you will spend the first night of your trip. 

Day 2: Casablanca to Rabat

In the morning, head to Casablanca, Morocco’s capital city, admiring the lovely sceneries along the Atlantic Ocean. Once in Rabat, visit Hassan tower and Mausoleum of Mohamed V. explore the breathtaking Oudaya Kasbah with a panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean. Late afternoon, walk through the lovely beaches of Rabat and witness a marvelous sunset like never before, overnight at your accommodation Hotel in Casablanca.  Morocco itinerary 14 days 

Day 3: Rabat to Chefchaouen

Head north to Chefchaouen, admire the incredible landscapes along the way. Arriving in Chefchaouan, explore the city on your own, visit the old Medina of Chefchaouan and walk through its breathtaking blue washed streets and visit the Spanish Mosque and Ras Lma, then spend the night at a Traditional Riad in the old Medina of Chefchaouan enjoying the silence of the city. 

Day 4: Chefchaouen to Fes

In the morning, depart from Chefchaouan and drive to Fes enjoying the amazing landscapes, along the way. Stopping at Volubilis, best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa and UNESCO world heritage site (the admission fee is required). It’s advised to explore these historic ruins with a local guide, so that you will get insight about the Roman empire in Morocco. Afterward, continue your trip to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, founded by Moulay Ismail. Meknes offers some historic attraction including Bab Mansour, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and Qara jail. Then proceed to Fes, overnight at your Riad in the old Medina of Fes;

 

Day 5: Fes Sightseeing tour: 

Meet your local guide of Fes in the morning and then start your sightseeing tour of Fes, visit the Royal Palace, wander through its lovely golden doors and visit the old Medina f Fes stroll through its narrow streets, it feels like steeping back in time. After that, visit Al Qaraouine University, world’s oldest university and UNESCO world heritage site. Following that, explore Moulay Idriss Mausoleum the founder of the city. Late afternoon, you will be taken to Borj Nord where you can see the whole Medina of Fes overnight at your accommodation in Fes. 

Day 6: Fes to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Depart from Fes to the Sahara desert of Merzouga, passing through Imouzar Kinder, where you will stop for a coffee before heading to Ifrane, known as Morocco’s Little Switzerland where you will visit the Atlas lion Statue. Following that, proceed through the Cedar Forest  of Azrou, Morocco’s Largest city, where you will  stop to photograph the Barbary Monkeys then drive through the middle Atlas Mountains, appreciating the incredible sceneries along the way. A stop will be made in Midelt where you will have lunch and then continue to Merzouga desert. Explore the Ziz Valley then pass through Arfoud, known as the date capital, visit a fossil museum in the city before heading to the Sahara desert of Merzouga appreciating the amazing sceneries along Tafilalet oasis, arriving in Merzouga, where you will meet your camel guide and then set off on a camel ride adventure through the dunes of Merzouga, enjoy a sunset view then proceed to your desert camp where you will spend the night.

Day 7: Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Get your day started on the right foot with a sightseeing trip of Merzouga. Stop by Tanamoust, Hassi Lbeid, and Khamlia village, where you’ll meet Gnawa and listen to their music. Then, hike behind the dunes of Merzouga to meet the nomads, learn about their way of life, and sample some Berber pizza. Explore the Hassi Lbeid oasis in the late afternoon (you will have some free time to go sandboarding, quad riding, or bugg) before spending the night at your riad by the dunes of Merzouga. 

Day 8: Merzouga to Todra Gorge

In the morning, depart toward Dades Gorges, enjoying the incredible landscapes along the way passing through the grey desert to arrive in Rissani, one of Morocco’s ancient cities. Explore Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, the ruler of the city, then stroll the vibrant souks of Rissani, a heave for shopping and experiencing the Berber culture. Afterward, continue to Todra Gorges, one of the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. Along the way, you will stop at Berber house where you will get the chance to try Berber weeding dress. Arriving in Todra Gorges, walk through the gorges with your local guide and then proceed to Dades Gorges where you will spend the night. 

 

Day 9: Todra Gorge to Ouarzazate

In the morning, wake up for a breathtaking sunrise over Dades gorges and then Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” You pass through Kalaat M’gouna, known as the rose city; visit a local cooperative in the city. Afterward, head to Ouarzazate known as Hollywood of Africa, where you have the chance to explore Taourirt Kasbah and Film Studio of Ouarzazate. After that, continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, UNESCO world heritage site and best place for filmmakers including Gladiator; Game of Thrones and The Mummy overnight at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. 

Day 10: Ouarzazate to Marrakech

In the morning, proceed toward Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains with a stop at Tizi N Tichka pass (2260 m).  Then continue to Marrakech. Arriving in Marrakech transfer you to your accommodation where you will spend the night  

Day 11: Marrakech

In the morning, meet your local tour guide of Marrakech and then start your sightseeing tour of the red city, visit the old Medina of Marrakech walk through its narrow streets and visit Madrasa Ben Youssef, one of the oldest Madrasa in the region. After that, explore Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Garden, Bahia Palace and Koutoubia Mosque, second largest Mosque in  Morocco after Hassan Mosque in Casablanca, it’s a great place for photographing. Late afternoon, visit Djamaa Lfena square offering nightlife activities including snake charmers, musicians and storytellers overnight at your accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 12: Marrakech to Essaouira:

After a warm breakfast at your accommodation in Marrakech. Head to Essaouira known as the windy city, admire the incredible sceneries along the way. Passing through Agran trees along the way. Stopping for some photographing opportunities with harvesting goats and then continue to Essaouira. Upon arrival in Essaouira, wander through its relaxing beaches, and enjoy the breathtaking atmosphere. Following that, visit the old Medina of Essaouira; wander through its narrow streets. Afterwards, visit Essaouira port where you will see the Blue boats known as the Berber boats and then transfer to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 13: Essaouira to Casablanca

After breakfast at your hotel, head to Casablanca enjoying the incredible sceneries along the way. Passing through Safi and El Jadid, Arriving in Casablanca visit the Royal Palace and the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, then transfer you to your accommodation where you will spend the last night of your trip. 

Day 14: Departure from Casablanca

Depending on your flight time, our drive will transfer you to the airport in Casablanca.
