Bastiano Farran to Volunteer at the PMI as a Product Management Mentor and Panelist Jury Member

In summer 2022 Bastiano Farran will volunteer as a product management mentor, and Jury Member at the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Next Generation Leaders (NGL) Program. The program aims at training and developing a highly skilled next generation of product management leaders. 

The PMI SF Bay Area Chapter is hosting a creative and experiential learning virtual event for participants to showcase their talents in Product Management and Project Management for a chance to win awards and will be judged by top-tier industry panelists.

The “Let’s Jam!” Event is a virtual challenge where participants may choose between two different real business requirements PMI has:

– “Data Analytics and Dashboard development”.

– “Product and Website development”.

Participants will have the chance to experience a 5-week sprint simulation working on the key components of the product development lifecycle to deliver a complete solution/proposal.
Participating product managers are required to collaborate and lead multi-functional teams with developers, engineers, product owners, SCRUM masters, and User experience (UX) skilled members; also teams will have access to coaching, career advice, and direct exposure to other leaders in the  Product management field, and leaders from different industries.

The 5-week sprint will require an average contribution of about 3-4 hours a week per participant.

The “Let’s Jam!” Event will Kick-Off on June 11th, 2022 and will conclude with the Final solution/proposal presentation to a Panel of Judges on July 23rd, 2022 led by industry leaders and an Award Ceremony!

PMI’s NGL (Next Generation Leaders) Program, led by Carin Kaltschmidt, intends to influence, and engage young-emergent professionals in Project and Product Management leadership through experiential learning and career development support. The program is built on 3 pillars:
