Award-Winning Designer Mengmeng Chen Embarks on New Chapter: Leading FoodAI 2.0 at AgentX

Building on a series of international design triumphs, Mengmeng Chen, the award-winning product and user experience designer behind the acclaimed FoodAI platform, will soon take the next step in her creative journey. Chen is joining AgentX as a Product Designer, where she will lead the development of FoodAI 2.0 — a major upgrade to her breakthrough AI cooking assistant. At AgentX, she will bring her deep expertise in AI-driven user experiences to a new, cutting-edge environment focused on shaping the future of intelligent platforms.

FoodAI, Chen’s innovative smart cooking assistant, has already garnered international acclaim for its pioneering approach to AI in the kitchen. The platform won multiple major awards in 2024 – including a Global AI Innovation Award (Gold) and the International Digital Excellence Grand Prize – for its ability to seamlessly blend artificial intelligence with everyday cooking. FoodAI uses AI-driven “virtual chef” agents to help users plan meals, discover recipes, and cook with personalized guidance, earning praise for its user-friendly interface and creative culinary intelligence. These achievements have cemented Chen’s reputation as a leading innovator in AI, product design, and user experience.

Speaking about the upcoming transition, Mengmeng Chen said: “Joining AgentX is an exciting opportunity to take FoodAI to new heights. AgentX’s expertise and cutting-edge platform will inject new energy into the project, allowing me to realize creative ideas that were previously out of reach.” At AgentX – a next-generation platform that enables businesses to build AI agents easily – Chen will have access to robust AI development tools and resources. This support will provide a strong foundation for accelerating FoodAI’s evolution and scaling its capabilities to a wider audience.

In her new role, Chen plans a comprehensive upgrade of FoodAI, focusing on four key areas: new AI capabilities, an enhanced user experience, deeper personalization, and expanded sustainability features. “The current version of FoodAI already helps people cook great meals, but with 2.0 we want to go further,” Chen explains. “I envision a kitchen assistant that truly understands how individuals cook – one that goes beyond just recipe instructions to provide intuitive, personalized, and context-aware support for every meal.” To prepare for the upgrade, Chen is actively gathering feedback from FoodAI’s users to understand the platform’s strengths and limitations. “Real cooking experiences from our users are the most valuable guide,” she says. “We want to learn how people are using FoodAI, what challenges they face in the kitchen, and what improvements they hope to see.” This user-centric approach will inform the design of FoodAI 2.0’s new interface and features, ensuring the upgraded platform is both highly intuitive and engaging.

On a technical level, FoodAI 2.0 will leverage more advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning to deepen its understanding of cooking contexts and user preferences. The upgraded AI assistant will be capable of real-time smart guidance – for example, analyzing a user’s available ingredients, dietary needs, and cooking skill level to suggest tailored recipes and step-by-step support on the fly. By integrating AgentX’s powerful AI agent framework, FoodAI 2.0 can utilize natural language processing and computer vision to make the cooking experience more interactive and hands-free. Enhanced user experience is a priority: the platform’s interface is being refined for simplicity and delight, potentially including voice-guided instructions and visual AR prompts so even novice cooks feel like they have a friendly sous-chef by their side. Every aspect of the user interaction is being rethought to make cooking with FoodAI 2.0 easier, more fun, and accessible to cooks of all skill levels.

Personalization will also be at the heart of FoodAI 2.0. The new system will learn from each user’s tastes, nutritional goals, and feedback over time to deliver truly customized meal plans and suggestions. Whether someone is vegan, managing allergies, or training for a marathon, FoodAI 2.0 will tailor its recommendations to suit individual lifestyles and preferences. Chen’s vision is to create an AI that adapts like a personal chef who knows you well – remembering if you liked a particular dish, suggesting healthier alternatives when appropriate, and even adjusting portion sizes based on your fitness goals. By combining deeper user insights with AgentX’s AI personalization engine, FoodAI 2.0 aims to make every cooking session uniquely suited to the person in front of the stove.

Another core focus of the upgrade is sustainability in everyday cooking. FoodAI 2.0 will introduce new features to help users cook more sustainably and reduce waste. The assistant will offer suggestions for utilizing leftover ingredients, recommend seasonal and locally sourced substitutions, and provide tips to minimize the environmental footprint of each recipe. “Sustainable cooking shouldn’t be a luxury or a complex choice,” Chen emphasizes. “With the right tools and information, making eco-conscious decisions in the kitchen can become second nature – and that’s what we aim to achieve with FoodAI 2.0.” By embedding sustainability guidance directly into the cooking experience, FoodAI 2.0 will empower users to make greener choices—such as optimizing recipes to use all parts of an ingredient, or planning meals that reduce single-use packaging—without sacrificing convenience or flavor.

As part of AgentX, FoodAI 2.0 will benefit from a dynamic ecosystem geared toward rapid AI innovation. AgentX’s platform, known for enabling businesses to build and deploy custom AI agents with ease, provides an ideal environment for Chen’s project. By leveraging AgentX’s next-generation development tools and infrastructure, the FoodAI team can accelerate experimentation with new AI models and integrations (like smart kitchen appliances or grocery delivery services) to further enhance the user experience. This collaboration not only accelerates FoodAI’s development but also showcases the versatility of AgentX’s platform in supporting specialized AI-driven solutions for consumers.

Mengmeng Chen will commence the FoodAI 2.0 initiative as soon as she joins AgentX in the second half of 2025, with a target to release an initial beta version of the upgraded assistant in 2026. Early adopters and cooking enthusiasts can look forward to previewing features as they roll out, and interested users are encouraged to follow FoodAI’s and AgentX’s official channels for updates and opportunities to participate in beta testing.

As FoodAI enters its next phase at AgentX, Chen remains focused on a singular goal: to transform home cooking from a daily chore into an intuitive, enjoyable, and sustainable experience powered by AI. In bringing FoodAI 2.0 to life on the AgentX platform, Mengmeng Chen is poised to redefine how people engage with food and technology – making innovative AI cooking assistance a reality for kitchens around the world.
