Banana is high in potassium, which helps regulate the amount of water inside your cells. Adequate amounts of potassium can help reduce muscle cramps and prevent muscle weakness. One large banana contains 975 milligrams of potassium, about 20 percent of the recommended daily intake (RDI) for men and 33 percent of RDI for women.
Pumpkin seeds –
Pumpkin seeds are packed with magnesium, a mineral that helps improve blood flow throughout your body – including to your brain! In fact, magnesium deficiency has been linked with migraines. A 1/4 cup serving of pumpkin seeds provides half of the RDI for magnesium – plus they’re an excellent source of protein!
Whole-grain bread –
Research suggests that fiber promotes healthy bowel function, stabilizes blood sugar levels and can help make you feel full. So not only are whole grains good for helping with weight loss, they’re also great for starting your day off right! Try to choose cereals that have at least 5 grams of fiber per serving if possible.
Easy on the stomach and packed with nutrients, oatmeal is high in soluble fiber – which means it absorbs water as it moves through your digestive tract. Oatmeal is a great source of B vitamins, iron and calcium. It’s especially beneficial to eat oats before or after working out because they are rich in magnesium, which relaxes muscles for easier muscle relaxation during exercise. To boost the health benefits, sprinkle your oatmeal with chia seeds.
