Agora: A Solana-based Metaverse Shopping Mall where Users can Buy Real-World Goods

With the metaverse, the future is here. It was only a few decades ago when the idea of a world existing in the digital realm was proposed.

Fast forward to 2021, when Facebook rebranded to Meta and announced its newfound focus on the metaverse. It is a new redirection that blockchain projects have already begun working on.

However, the entry of Meta was a game-changer, heightening the investment and community’s focus on the technology. By late 2021, JP Morgan and BofA analysts forecasted that the metaverse would be a trillion-dollar market in the years ahead.

Introducing Agoraverse

Of the many projects working progressively towards realizing this mega goal is Agoraverse. The Solana-based project is releasing what’s uniquely an immersive virtual shopping mall powered by the low transaction fees, high processing speeds, and security of the scalable Solana blockchain.

The Agora project is built by a transparent and ambitious team with deep knowledge of the blockchain and the metaverse. To realize their objectives, they are developing their metaverse using the Unity Game Engine for an unrivaled gamified experience .

Through the Agoraverse platform, users from every part of the world would, for the first time, experience a new way of shopping for tangible and digital objects from the comfort of their homes and devices.

Notably, the Agora metaverse would be relatable to users. For instance, the platform would feature clothing shops, furniture stores, art shops, NFTs, and quite literally, all use cases that can fit into their expansive metaverse.

Besides shopping, there will be mini-games and leisure locations like restaurants and bars, making user interactions in the metaverse as enjoyable as possible.

Building an Interactive Metaverse, Buy digital items and Real-World Goods

Agora is maximizing capabilities offered by the Solana blockchain.

The network’s high throughput and global access merge with NFTs for a heightened user experience.

Metashops will be owned by individuals or brands that want to sell digital items or material goods, and the necessary tools will be given to owners to design their shop as they see fit.

In all, the metaverse developer aims to release over 5000 metashops, rivaling the largest shopping center in the world, the Iran Mall. However, the team is aware of the challenges of filling their spaces with exciting experiences. They plan to gradually increase the number of shops from 50 to their target over the coming years.

The AGORA Token

Central to this ambitious and immersive metaverse is the AGORA utility token.

One of the ways AGORA will be distributed is via a two-round ICO on the 3rd of June 2022. The token will be available to Access Card holders and whitelisted wallets in the first round. Meanwhile, the second round will be public and accessible to all interested investors.

Besides being used as a medium of exchange, allowing users to acquire digital items and real-world products, users can supply AGORA as liquidity to official pools in various DEXes, listing the token for smooth trading.

Additionally, Agoraverse is already building several features for users to use AGORA, including an NFT upgrade system. Through this, holders of Access Card NFTs will be able to upgrade their possession, in exchange for AGORA. Furthermore, there will be a raffle system where users can purchase raffle tickets to enter a lottery and win awards using AGORA. The team is also planning on releasing an exclusive NFT collection that will use AGORA as one of the payment methods.
