ID-Pal Selected by ThirdEye to Scale Identity and Business Verification Across ANZ
- Strategic alliance further strengthens ID-Pal’s international presence and introduces AI-powered verification to ThirdEye’s AML platform.
- The growing threat of identity fraud, synthetic identities and AI-enabled cybercrime across ANZ region is increasing pressure on organisations to strengthen verification processes.
ThirdEye, an end-to-end anti-money laundering (AML) solution, has selected ID-Pal to power its Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) capabilities across Australia and New Zealand.
The strategic alliance builds on ID-Pal’s growing international footprint, bringing its AI-powered identity and business verification technology to ThirdEye’s AML platform at a time when financial institutions in the region face increasing pressure to combat fraud, strengthen compliance and establish trust from onboarding.
The announcement comes amid heightened scrutiny of mortgage fraud across Australia’s banking sector. In August 2026, AUSTRAC’s Fintel Alliance identified potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in suspected fraudulent mortgage loans across 10 major Australian banks, exposing vulnerabilities involving falsified documents, misrepresented employment and misleading financial information.
The announcement comes after the Cyber Threat Report 20261, released last month by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), predicted that by early 2027 malicious actors could have access to capabilities currently only available in frontier models1. The NCSC also highlighted the escalating severity of cybercrime and extortion, including several large-scale data breaches exposing the identity information of thousands of New Zealanders.
Stolen identity information is used to access customer accounts or set up new fraudulent ones, making it more important than ever for institutions to know who their customers are at onboarding and monitor their ongoing activity.
ThirdEye General Manager Hamish Shaw pointed to AI advancements as a key catalyst for the strategic alliance. “The financial crime landscape has never been static, bad actors are always evolving new techniques to keep us on our toes. Now, with AI accelerating the threats, it’s so crucial for those of us on the right side to work together to ensure we stay ahead,” he said.
Commenting on the news, Colum Lyons, CEO and Founder of ID-Pal, said: “Fraud and financial crime know no borders, and increasingly, neither does the technology used to commit them. ThirdEye has built a strong AML proposition across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and we’re delighted they’ve chosen ID-Pal to power identity and business verification within it. Together, we can help organisations establish trust at onboarding and manage fraud and compliance risk throughout the customer lifecycle.”
ID-Pal’s Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) capabilities use AI-powered technology to authenticate identity documents, verify individuals and businesses, and support fraud detection. Its privacy-preserving approach protects sensitive customer information while delivering real-time verification results.
ThirdEye’s AML platform combines smart automation with local expertise to deliver a secure system that supports banks, financial institutions and other highly regulated organisations in the fight against financial crime. With flexible models delivering customer screening, transaction monitoring, case management and regulatory reporting, it empowers them to protect their customers, manage risk and meet ongoing compliance requirements.
Institutions in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom can now access ID-Pal’s document authentication, biometric verification and address verification capabilities alongside ThirdEye’s existing modules, delivering a more streamlined and scalable solution for organisations across the region.
