Ethereum News: ETH Clears $2,300 as Vitalik Opens Devcon 8, and Big Wallets Back Pepeto’s Security Tools
Ethereum holders spent November 3 watching Mumbai, where Vitalik Buterin opened Devcon 8, the first Ethereum developer conference held in India. His talk was about which systems people can trust, and ETH climbed back above $2,300 the same day.
Yet the price still sits more than half below its 2025 record, so this week’s ethereum news leaves one open question: can a conference about trust bring the big buyers back?
Buterin’s message has traders asking which tools they can check for themselves, and big wallets are finding one answer in the AI security tools of Pepeto, a presale meme token now past $11.2 million.
Ethereum News: ETH Clears $2,300 as Devcon 8 Opens in Mumbai
Ether broke above $2,300 on November 3, hours after Devcon 8 opened, up about 1% in a day. If ETH holds there, then $2,400 is the next test, about 4% higher. A daily close under $2,200, about 4% below, puts the 200 day average near $2,160 in view.
The conference gives holders a reason for hope, since ETH gained about 17% in the 30 days after Devcon 7 in Bangkok. Buterin used the opening to argue that people should rely on fewer middlemen and verify the code they use.
However, ETH is worth about $278 billion, so the 4% climb to $2,400 needs roughly $11 billion of fresh buying. A $1,000 holder earns the same 4% from it as a $10 million fund.
So ETH’s next 4% pays every holder alike, while its large gain went to buyers who trusted the code when ETH was small. This week’s ethereum news points that trust question at trading tools. Pepeto is building one at its opening stage, a scanner that checks a token before money moves.
Why Whales Are Funding Pepeto’s AI Scanner During ETH’s 15% Drop
Whales back Pepeto for the reason ETH’s first holders did, to own it before the open market sets its price. Pepeto mixes meme coin reach with AI tools and sells its token in stages before an exchange lists it, each one priced higher.
Every buyer of a new token trusts code he cannot read. Pepeto’s AI security scanner, in development, runs 42 detectors and simulates a buy and a sale on a copy of the chain. A honeypot that lets money in but never out scores 6 out of 100, and the trade is blocked.
The team is also building PepetoSwap, a non custodial exchange with a 0.00% fee, and a $0 bridge, both in private testing with its community and largest backers. Its cofounder created the first Pepe coin, an ex Binance expert codes for it, and SolidProof audited it.
Large wallets sent the $11.2 million while ETH fell more than 15% in a month, before the crowd had a reason to look. Tokens cost $0.0000001904 at this stage, and staking pays 160% APY. Against the $11 billion ETH needs for 4%, the same dollar does far more work in Pepeto.
ETH traded near $13 in September 2016, when Devcon 2 met in Shanghai, and reached about $4,950 in August 2025. Wallets that bought it small kept most of that gain. Pepeto’s buyers today hold the position those 2016 holders had, with a Binance listing expected.

Conclusion
Buterin told developers to trust less and verify more, and in those weeks whales funded a presale whose scanner does that check. Lifting ETH to $2,400 takes about $11 billion. Each Pepeto stage, with the raise just past $11.2 million, ends when its timer runs out or its target fills.
So this week’s ethereum news gives ETH holders a slow climb toward $2,400, and Pepeto is where the whales took their place before the crowd.
Many ETH buyers from 2016 admit they followed big wallets in with doubt, nearly skipped it, and now wish they had put in far more. That signal is showing again with audited code behind it, and buyers who follow those wallets into Pepeto before its listing will hold tokens bought at stage prices.
