HashNet Review: Martin Karus fronts another Dubai Ponzi

HashNet fails to provide ownership or executive information on its website.

HashNet’s website domain (“hashnet.ai”), was privately registered on February 14th, 2026. Note the domain appears to be US geo-blocked.

If we look at HashNet’s website source-code we find Russian:

Karus is a serial fraudster. Originally from Europe, these days Karus defrauds consumers through various MLM scams from Dubai.

BehindMLM last came across Karus promoting MproLab in 2024. MproLab’s website is still up but the Ponzi scheme appears to have collapsed in 2025.

After MproLab Karus attached himself to IconX:

Other collapsed MLM crypto Ponzi schemes Karus himself launched in the past include Xera, TronCase and Monarch.

I am noting HashNet offsite marketing names Ian Issa as founder and CEO of the company:

As far as I can tell Issa is a random crypto bro fallguy plucked from obscurity.

Putting all of this together, HashNet is being run by Russian scammers and fronted by Karus in Dubai.

Due to the proliferation of scams and failure to enforce securities fraud regulation, BehindMLM ranks Dubai as the MLM crime capital of the world.

BehindMLM’s guidelines for Dubai are:

  1. If someone lives in Dubai and approaches you about an MLM opportunity, they’re trying to scam you.
  2. If an MLM company is based out of or represents it has ties to Dubai, it’s a scam.

If you want to know specifically how this applies to HashNet, read on for a full review.

HashNet’s Products

HashNet has no retailable products or services.

Promoters are only able to market HashNet promoter membership itself.

HashNet’s Compensation Plan

HashNet promoters invest USD equivalents in cryptocurrency.

This is done on the promise of “average” monthly returns:

  • Advanced – invest $150 or more and receive 7.4% a month
  • Ultra – invest $10,000 or more and receive 7.8% a month
  • Enterprise – invest $50,000 or more and receive 8.2% a month

Returns are capped at 500%, which appears to include MLM commissions and bonuses.

After the ROI cap is reached, reinvestment is required to continue earning.

The MLM side of HashNet pays on recruitment of promoter investors.

HashNet Promoter Ranks

There are thirteen promoter ranks within HashNet’s compensation plan.

Along with their respective qualification criteria, they are as follows:

  1. Core 1 – generate $5000 in downline investment volume
  2. Core 2 – generate $12,500 in downline investment volume
  3. Core 3 – generate $30,000 in downline investment volume

  5. Pro 1 – generate $250,000 in downline investment volume
  6. Pro 2 – generate $600,000 in downline investment volume

  12. Titan – generate $65,000,000 in downline investment volume
  13. Apex – generate $125,000,000 in downline investment volume

Note that up to 40% of required downline investment can come from any one recruitment leg.

Referral Commissions

HashNet pays referral commissions via a unilevel compensation structure.

A unilevel compensation structure places a promoter at the top of a unilevel team, with every personally recruited promoter placed directly under them (level 1):

If any level 1 promoters recruit new promoters, they are placed on level 2 of the original promoter’s unilevel team.

If any level 2 promoters recruit new promoters, they are placed on level 3 and so on and so forth down a theoretical infinite number of levels.

HashNet caps payable unilevel team levels at sixteen.

Referral commissions are paid out as a percentage of cryptocurrency invested across these sixteen levels as follows:

  • level 1 (personally recruited promoters) – 5%
  • levels 2 and 3 – 3%
  • levels 4 to 7 – 2%
  • levels 8 to 11 1.5%
  • levels 12 and 13 – 0.5%
  • levels 14 and 15 – 1%
  • level 16 – 2%

HashNet compensation documentation statues “1 referral = 2 levels unlocked”. This suggests HashNet promoters must recruit eight promoters to “unlock” all eight referral commission levels.

ROI Match

HashNet pays a ROI match using the same unilevel team referral commissions are paid with (see “Referral Commissions” above):

  • level 1 – 3%
  • levels 2 and 3 – 2%
  • levels 4 to 7 – 1.5%
  • levels 8 to 11 – 1%
  • levels 12 to 15 – 0.5%
  • level 16 – 1%

Infinity Bonus

Pro 1 and higher ranked HashNet promoters qualify for the Infinity Bonus.

The Infinity Bonus pays a bonus percentage on downline investment volume for that month:

  • generate $30,000 in monthly downline investment volume and receive a 1% Infinity bonus
  • generate $75,000 in monthly downline investment volume and receive a 1.5% Infinity bonus
  • generate $250,000 in monthly downline inevstment volume and receive a 2% Infinity bonus

HashNet solicits investment in various cryptocurrencies:

HashNet Conclusion

HashNet sees Martin Karus front yet another MLM crypto Ponzi.

HashNet represents is generates external revenue through cryptocurrency mining hardware:

HashNet promoters purportedly own mining hardware when they invest, however they actually take posession of the hardware.

More importantly, HashNet’s passive returns investment scheme constitutes a securities offering.

HashNet fails to provide verifiable evidence proving it generates external revenue from any source.

In addition to being a legal requirement, the only verifiable evidence HashNet can provide to consumers is audited financial reports filed with regulators.

HashNet both fails to provide these reports, or evidence it has registered with financial regulators in any jurisdiction.

HashNet failing to register its passive returns investment scheme is verifiable securities fraud.

As it stands, the only verifiable source of revenue entering HashNet is new investment.

Using new investment to pay ROI withdrawals would make HashNet a Ponzi scheme.

Additionally, with nothing marketed or sold to retail customers, the MLM side of HashNet operates as a pyramid scheme.

As with all MLM Ponzi schemes, once promoter recruitment dries up so too will new investment.

This will starve HashNet of ROI revenue, eventually prompting a collapse.

Math guarantees that when a Ponzi scheme collapses, the majority of participants lose money.
