Alina Selyanina, Director of Retail Chain Development at Ruskus, has been named Retail Chain Growth Leader of the Year 2025 by the Best in Business Awards (biba.global), an international awards program that recognizes executives and companies for measurable business results.
According to the award citation, Selyanina was recognized for her work building a scalable operating model for Ruskus, a flower retail chain, based on long-term planning, standardized processes across stores, and consistent performance management. Between 2021 and 2025, the chain expanded from four stores to seven. Over the same period, annual revenue rose from RUB 28.1 million to RUB 461.1 million, and the volume of flowers sold increased from roughly 305,000 stems in 2021 to 2.99 million stems in 2024 — a more than sixteen-fold increase in revenue and an almost ten-fold increase in sales volume.
The award citation notes that Selyanina’s contribution went beyond opening new locations. It credits her with establishing the operational foundation needed to support higher sales volumes, maintain consistent standards across stores, and create a repeatable framework for the chain’s continued growth — aligning strategic planning with day-to-day retail execution.
Commenting on the recognition, Selyanina said:
“Meaningful retail growth requires more than opening new locations or increasing sales. It depends on creating a reliable operating system in which strategy, people, processes, and customer experience work together at every level of the business. My role at Ruskus has been focused on building that system and making it scalable. The growth achieved between 2021 and 2024 demonstrates the strength of this approach. As the business expanded from four stores to seven and flower sales grew to 2.99 million stems, our priority was to ensure that growth remained structured, measurable, and operationally sustainable. I believe the strongest retail chains are built through disciplined execution, consistent standards, and a clear understanding of how each location contributes to the wider business.”
The Retail Chain Growth Leader of the Year category recognizes individuals who have led measurable, sustained expansion within a retail organization, evaluated on criteria including revenue growth, operational consistency, and the scalability of the systems put in place.
