Mid-sized retailers are in a constant battle with e-commerce giants. Large corporations leverage massive in-house research divisions and data science teams to predict consumer behavior, optimize inventory, and forecast demand with pinpoint accuracy. This leaves mid-sized companies at a significant disadvantage, unable to afford the complex, expensive tools needed to compete.

Cybernetis AI is launching a new platform to close this gap. Led by CEO Lia Berman, the company has developed a predictive analytics system designed specifically to be scalable and accessible for mid-sized businesses. We spoke with Lia to discuss how this new tool democratizes data and allows smaller retailers to finally compete on equal footing.

Q: What is the single biggest challenge mid-sized retailers face today when it comes to data?

Lia Berman: That’s a great question. The biggest challenge we see is that even some of the most advanced retail companies are still running on technology foundations built back in the 1970s and 80s. Over the years, these systems have only been slightly updated – new modules added, some “AI layers” attached – but the core architecture hasn’t fundamentally changed.

When we look at today’s retail landscape, the key challenges are clear: intense competition, rising customer acquisition costs, historically shrinking margins, and too many manual processes slowing everything down. All of this creates layers of inefficiency. Most of the tools retailers rely on still analyze what has already happened rather than predicting what will happen next.

Cybernetis AI changes that. Our platform learns from the past, understands the present in real time, and forecasts multiple versions of the future simultaneously. That kind of 360-degree predictive intelligence gives retailers the ability to move faster, operate smarter, and grow profitably – even in today’s hypercompetitive environment.

Q: Your goal is to “democratize predictive analytics.” How does your new platform make these powerful tools accessible to businesses without massive budgets?

Lia Berman: When we talk about “democratizing predictive analytics,” we mean it quite literally – making advanced AI accessible not just technologically, but financially and operationally.

First, the cost of using Cybernetis AI is intentionally designed to be accessible. You don’t need a multimillion-dollar data science team or a complex infrastructure to get results. Our modular architecture allows each company to choose exactly what they need – nothing more.

For example, a client might decide to start with just the marketing automation module. It connects marketing and sales data in real time, sending predictive signals to procurement and production — so ingredients can be purchased on time, manufacturing can plan capacity, and logistics can prepare inventory space automatically. Everything operates as one synchronized ecosystem.

Other clients prefer a full-scale setup – connecting finance, operations, logistics, and marketing – essentially creating a digital twin of their company. With Cybernetis AI, they can communicate with their data directly, as if talking to their business in real time.

We’ve also focused heavily on speed and usability. Integration is fast, even for companies with 1,000 or 100,000 employees, thanks to our built-in learning system. And despite the complexity of the technology, the interface is extremely intuitive and user-friendly – that’s what makes it truly democratic.

Q: The platform can reportedly process up to 30 quintillion operations per second. What does that speed mean for a retailer in practical, real-time terms?

Lia Berman: You can think of this speed the way you think about a car’s engine. For a vehicle, it’s how quickly it can accelerate to full speed. For Cybernetis AI, it’s how much data and how many operations the system can process in fractions of a second.

Thirty quintillion operations per second means the platform can instantly analyze everything happening across a company – sales, inventory, marketing, supply chains – almost in real time. While you take a sip of your morning coffee, Cybernetis has already modeled your business multiple times, identified inefficiencies, and suggested precise improvements.

It’s the next-generation business engine – where computational power directly translates into speed, accuracy, and smarter decisions.

Q: What specific types of data does the platform analyze, and what are the first improvements early users have reported?

Lia Berman: The Cybernetis AI platform can process virtually any type of data – financial, operational, marketing, or logistical. We began with the retail sector because even before developing the technology, we spent extensive time speaking with companies in this space and saw both the major pain points and the clear opportunities for optimization.

After the launch, other industries began to show interest as well – including banking, oil and gas, and even defense organizations. In truth, any large enterprise can benefit from predictive automation. The platform is not limited by data volume or type and scales seamlessly across any infrastructure.

As for results, early users are already seeing up to 100% automation in specific workflows. For mid-market companies with around $200 million in annual revenue, this typically translates to an improvement equivalent to about 5% of total annual revenue – roughly $10 million in additional value – achieved simply by eliminating inefficiencies that traditional systems fail to detect.

Q: You come to the U.S. retail tech sector from Ukraine. How has that unique perspective influenced your emphasis on adaptability and innovation for this platform?

Lia Berman: The experiences I grew up with taught me resilience and the ability to never give up. In challenging moments, I’ve learned to roll up my sleeves and work twice as hard alongside my team – shoulder to shoulder, no matter what obstacles arise.

Over the past few years, Ukraine has made tremendous progress in digital transformation – despite all the difficulties the country continues to face. We built a fully digital government where technology truly simplifies processes and makes everyday life more efficient. Watching that evolution convinced me that even the most advanced innovations must serve people first.

And honestly, I believe such a system would be incredibly valuable in the United States as well. Sometimes, even simple tasks here can take far too long to resolve – I think everyone has experienced that level of bureaucracy and inertia. We’d be glad to help change that.

I also spent several years living in the United Arab Emirates, where I saw how seriously people treat efficiency and innovation. There, technology isn’t viewed as an expense – it’s seen as an investment in speed, precision, and sustainable growth.

It’s essential for us that both our headquarters and development team are based in the United States. This allows us to make decisions quickly and stay closely connected to our clients. After all, what matters most are the relationships we build. We always keep our word, build partnerships on trust and transparency, and as I like to say – do everything with the heart.

Even in a high-tech and seemingly cold industry, this philosophy reminds us that at the heart of every system, there are always people.

The key insight from this discussion is that predictive analytics is no longer a luxury reserved for the industry’s giants. By providing scalable, real-time intelligence, Cybernetis AI is removing the barriers that have held mid-sized retailers back. Early users are already seeing tangible improvements in forecasting and inventory speed, proving the platform’s immediate value.

As data becomes the new currency in retail, the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions is a necessity, not a luxury. The work of innovators like Lia Berman and Cybernetis AI ensures that businesses of all sizes have the tools they need to adapt, innovate, and respond to a rapidly changing market.
