NATE CALIMA RETIRES FROM ORGANIZING LIVE PAGEANTS AFTER MAJOR WINS AT MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES.

Nate Calima on the red carpet at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. Nate Calima has been in showbiz for a long time and now that time is coming to an end. “I started when I was a teenager in radio / tv broadcasting with a local news channel for fun.” says Calima. “I didn’t think I’d be so actively engaged and hosting and organizing events!”

Nate Calima started in the editing room which led to camera and field reporting. “I didn’t see it as a career, I saw it as pursuing a passion.” Years later he would get into business and thought it was the end of his participation.

“I realized that showbiz was a great way to create attention for your business. Many artists will tell you that it is the brand deals and business deals that stem from their career that creates scale!” says Calima. “When I first started, I was only there to help but I realized that many organizations were run by creatives rather than business people. I applied my business acumen to these organizations and ran a tight ship! Pageants have high turnaround and usually people get in, get a lot of pictures (and criticism), lose a lot of money, then someone else takes over while we sustained it by not going overboard”

“I was really good at networking. You must be extreme in networking and being productive. I would always look for the most successful people in the room and find a way to collaborate. The big difference from business settings and showbiz is the amount of drama. You have to know how to control your emotions as many are not in control of theirs!”

Nate Calima mentions that he was inspired by companies like Red Bull and Monster. “It really goes to show that the best product doesn’t matter if nobody knows about it, Red Bull constantly sponsors extreme sports for brand attention.”

“The attention that we got from live events, hosting, and other showbiz endeavors we leveraged into investments, fintech, and more. Things that can truly scale! Sometimes people need to learn to let go once they’ve reached the top. Effort must be applied elsewhere in order to scale. If you’re not growing, you’re dying. ”

“We are in a major global shift as transportation becomes automated and supersonic. As barriers between communication are torn down. Capitalists are now becoming nomadic as the whole world opens up and golden visas and citizenships become available!”

Nate Calima was asked to affiliate with the California organization sending to Miss Universe Philippines and quickly contacted Netflix star Kayla Jean Carter from “Too Hot To Handle” Season 2 and Daumier “Dom” Corilla, a Filipino model and actor. Kayla Carter became Miss Charm Philippines at Miss Universe Philippines and Dom Corilla became Mister Global Philippines and then the top crown Mister Global. Solidifying top wins for the Philippines.

“After that, I would go on to help in pageantry for another year sending to Miss Universe Philippines and Mutya ng Pilipinas. Pageants are a major sport in the Philippines so it led to many opportunities. However, I realized there were no more battles to be won and I had nothing else to prove. I have no problem appointing directly to pageants in the future but my time is best suited on new business ventures and working with individuals and high powered organizations that lead to massive revenues”

“There are so many people to thank and so many people involved that I just want to say I am grateful for the ups and downs and all the people I met. When I look back, I really enjoyed the friendships I made by participating in Mutya Ng Pilipinas, Miss World Philippines, Miss Universe Philippines and so many other organizations. Thank you all for the opportunity and thank you to everyone involved.”
