PUMA Award for Sustainability
PUMA, the sports company, said on Thursday that it has received strongly improved scores for its sustainability efforts concerning water security and forests and maintained a top score for its climate policy in the latest ratings by global environmental non-profit CDP.
Veronique Rochet, Senior Director Sustainability at PUMA, commented, “We are very proud of the improvements PUMA has made regarding water security and forests compared to last year. Combined with our continued top score for our climate change policies, CDP has recognized our leadership position in these areas. With our Vision 2030 sustainability targets, which we presented last year, we will aim to improve our sustainability performance even further in the coming years.”
About the sustainability
According to the sports company, to protect waterways and water supplies near the factories of its partners, it makes sure that regular wastewater testing is carried out and has introduced efficiency programs to reduce the amount of water needed to manufacture its products. Between 2019 and 2023, it was able to save 2,401,002 m³ of water, the equivalent of more than 7 million bathtubs, per year through various efficiency programmes.
PUMA said to make sure that the leather used for its products does not cause deforestation; it joined the Leather Working Group’s and Textile Exchange’s call to action to source all bovine leather from deforestation-free supply chains by 2030 or earlier.
PUMA UNVEILS JER-SHE
PUMA on Thursday also announced that it has unveiled JER-SHE, a canvas for women’s self-expression. It embraces the power of simplicity and the idea that you are at your best when you are yourself. To make it real, PUMA provides women with a platform to shine; each piece in the collection serves as a blank page, inviting women to express their true selves with boldness and authenticity. The collection spans across football, basketball, and motorsports.
Maria Valdes, Chief Product Officer at PUMA, said, “This campaign celebrates the diversity and strength of women in sports. We’re proud to provide a platform for them to shine and inspire each other. Every jersey in this collection represents a blank canvas to express who they are and what they stand for.”
Julie Legrand, Senior Director of Global Brand Strategy & Communications at PUMA, remarked, “Every choice of outfit carries a personal narrative, and every piece of clothing is a blank page to write and draw who you really are.”
The Jer-She
The company explained that the drawing inspiration came from basketball, motorsports, and football, and the collection introduces three experimental jerseys that challenge conventions through remixed proportions, deconstructed forms, and subversive takes on sports iconography. These pieces represent a new vision of athletic uniforms, one that is driven by the women shaping the future of sport. Capping off the collection, a Bucket Hat extends the JER-SHE design language, reinforcing the capsule’s bold aesthetic.
The Jer-She collection will be available starting March 1, 2025, from PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected PUMA stockists, the company said in a statement.
