5 Signs You Need A Better Internet Plan

Internet Plan

Everyone needs fast, reliable internet service, but no one wants to pay too much for it. So how do you know when your current internet service simply isn’t cutting it anymore? We’re going to review five signs that you need a better internet plan. If any of these scenarios sound like you, your household is overdue for a better internet plan and it’s time to start shopping around. Then your family has two options: you can either upgrade your internet plan with your current internet provider or you can shop around.

Sign #1: You Get Kicked From Online Game Lobbies

Are you playing your favorite game online and find yourself kicked out of lobbies before a match even starts? Your internet service could be the one to blame. Many games like Fortnite, GTA 5 and Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 will auto kick gamers from waiting lobbies if their internet service isn’t up to the task. With online games like these, everyone playing needs to have fast internet speeds and decent bandwidth to play the game as its developers intended. If you’re being kicked, it’s because those game developers are trying to be fair and don’t want everyone in your lobby to suffer from your slow internet connection.

To game online with minimal hiccups, you’ll want download speeds of at least 100 Mbps. Gaming consoles will recommend less, but their recommendations are only for one service running on one device. You’ll actually want even faster internet speeds to accommodate for other internet enabled devices working in your home simultaneously.

Sign #2: Netflix Buffers Throughout Your Favorite TV Show

Are your favorite shows stopping to load or buffer part of the way through? Sometimes Netflix like other streaming services have technical problems, but it’s more likely that your internet isn’t holding up its end of the deal.

To stream TV from any streaming service, you’ll want at least 25 Mbps to stream it without interruption and without compromising on resolution.

Sign #3: Smartphone Photo Backups Are Slow Or Don’t Backup Fully

Does Google Photos or iCloud seem to be backing up forever, but your most recent photos aren’t backing up consistently? Your internet could simply not have enough upload speeds to support yesterday’s photoshoot or selfie spree.

You could be extra patient or you could upgrade your internet plan to one that comes with faster upload speeds. Faster upload speeds will make sure every photo you take is successfully backed up, every single time. So next time you upgrade your phone, rest assured your precious memories will be there when you’re ready for them.

Sign #4: Web Pages Take A Long Time To Load

When web browsing, do all the sites you like to visit take an unusually long time to load?  Your long wait times could be from many different things, but if it’s a consistent problem, your internet speeds might be too slow. Websites are becoming more sophisticated with embedded videos and more photos which means they’ll need faster speeds to load them than they did five years ago. If you’re a casual internet user, you won’t need to break the bank for a good experience online.

Sign #5 Zoom Calls Freeze Up Or Lag

Are Zoom work meetings freeze up or lag? If so, it’s a sign that you need faster internet speeds at home. Zoom or any video calling needs recommended internet speeds up to 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds for the very best experience possible.
