Did Tron just change how its network runs? It did: Governance Proposal 108 took effect this week, upgrading how smart contracts on Tron store and process data while TRX held near $0.32.

For everyday users, that matters because nearly every USDT transfer on Tron runs through a smart contract. A steadier network means fewer failed operations, but the cost of each transfer still depends on TRX.

Users who want to keep that cost in check are turning to wallets built around Tron’s fee system. One of them is TR.Energy Wallet, a non-custodial wallet that lets users pay the USDT transfer fee in USDT instead of TRX.

Tron Proposal 108 Takes Effect to Make Smart Contracts Run More Smoothly

Tron’s community approved and enacted Governance Proposal 108 on November 2.

A recent Bloomingbit report, based on coverage by Odaily, says the change aims to strengthen smart-contract stability on Tron.

The upgrade improves how smart contracts store and process data, which should raise execution stability across the network.

In practice, it is expected to reduce errors during network operations and help developers run their services more reliably.

The report does not mention any change to fees, energy prices or transfer costs on Tron.

That means the upgrade targets reliability, not the bill users pay each time they move USDT.

TRX Holds Near $0.32 as Indicators Lean Bearish

TRX traded near $0.32 as of the report’s date, slipping about 2% over the week.

The chart shows a consolidation, with the price moving sideways in a narrow band.

Nearest support sits around $0.28, while resistance stands near $0.345.

Technical indicators lean bearish, so a drop toward support would not surprise traders.

A clean break above $0.345 would change the picture and point toward the $0.35 area.

What Tron USDT Senders Can Do While Fees Still Track TRX

A stability upgrade does not touch the fee itself. TRX is not just a coin to trade. It is the fuel of the Tron network, and every USDT transfer from a wallet without energy burns TRX.

That means the dollar cost of sending USDT moves with the TRX price. When TRX rallies, every transfer gets more expensive.

TR.Energy Wallet breaks that link. The non-custodial mobile wallet for iOS and Android lets users send USDT TRC-20 with zero TRX in the wallet and pay the fee in USDT instead.

The fee is 1 USDT when the recipient already holds USDT and 2 USDT when they do not. For frequent senders, transfer bundles lock in a fixed price per transfer that does not change with TRX or energy prices.

Hold or Swap TRX in One App

For TRX holders, the wallet offers more than cheaper transfers:

A holder who expects TRX to stay in its range can keep coins in the same app used for transfers. One who wants to step aside can swap TRX into USDT in the same app.

The Road Ahead

With Proposal 108 live, the next test is whether developers report fewer errors and steadier services on Tron.

For users, the upgrade changes reliability, not cost. Anyone who sends USDT often may still want a way to pay fees without watching the TRX price.

Network fees change with TRX’s price and network load, and wallet pricing can change as well. Crypto assets remain volatile, and outcomes are uncertain.
