Commercial Vehicles Debut

TRIPOLI, LIBYA – August 2026 — FORLAND has rolled out its adapted commercial vehicle range in Tripoli, engineered to withstand Libya’s demanding desert climate and difficult road infrastructure. The product launch event welcomed close to 200 local customers, dealer representatives, industry stakeholders and media, marking the brand’s official market entry in Libya together with its appointed local partner.

Desert-Ready FORLAND Commercial

Attendees at the launch included the president of Libyan Islamic Bank, local dealer chairman Dawadi, FORLAND Overseas Business Deputy General Manager Sun Chaoshan, and a broad group of transport operators and industry observers.

A core feature of FORLAND’s Libya market plan is its localisation strategy, designed to address the unique technical challenges of the region. Libya’s hot climate, sandy desert environments and rough road networks demand robust, low-maintenance commercial vehicles. Instead of relying only on imported finished trucks, FORLAND and its local partner plan to build a full local industrial ecosystem, including adapted R&D, local assembly, distribution, logistics and after-sales service.

REMAN, Brand Business General Manager of the local dealer, highlighted that Libyan operators do not merely look for low-cost transport. Their priority is rugged vehicles that can resist heat and dust, hold reliability over long hours of operation and be serviced quickly with accessible spare parts. Drawing on decades of commercial vehicle development and operation experience across over 150 markets worldwide, FORLAND is refining its product specifications specifically for North African desert duty cycles. Joint work on local R&D, parts warehousing and field service will support long-term vehicle uptime.

Sun Chaoshan confirmed Libya is a key testbed for FORLAND’s region-specific product development. The engineering team will keep refining vehicle configurations according to real local feedback, while the brand delivers holistic transport solutions covering design, production, sales and ongoing maintenance. By embedding local partners into daily service delivery, FORLAND intends to offer continuous support throughout each vehicle’s working life.

Commercial interest was high at the launch. Several fleet and private customers placed orders on-site, and over 20 vehicles were handed over during the ceremony. The partners are exploring local KD assembly to shorten lead times and lower supply-chain risks, while rapidly expanding service points across the country. A 24-hour spare parts support programme will be activated to cut waiting time for repairs and replacements.

This Tripoli launch reinforces FORLAND’s regional expansion agenda across North Africa. The manufacturer will keep partnering with local distributors globally to bring fit-for-purpose commercial vehicles and reliable service networks to more markets. FORLAND’s focus is not just one-off vehicle sales, but building a sustainable local service infrastructure that protects operators’ investment. The brand continues to sharpen its global competitiveness and grow its international customer footprint in the commercial vehicle industry.
